Because of my study, I have to come to München for some resources.
Rainer & Ilona provide part of the rooms for the overseas guests of International Youth Library (Internationale Jugendbibliothek)
The house
The stairs
The kitchen for all of us (Max. 5 persons )
The bathroom on 1st floor (there's another upstairs)
Blankets and towels are all clear for us.
My room for 75 days!!
About Transportation:
Untermenzing (S2) is only 7 minutes walk! This one can bring you directly to the main train station!
Bus162 can go directly to Pasing train station! (a shopping Mall there. and Drogeriemarkt like dm, Rossmann, Müller...)
About Food:
There are two supermarkt nearby (Lidl and Basic-biomarkt, 15 minutes' walk, or take bus162, only 2 stops!)
About Laundry:
The only thing not convenient is the laundry, there are two solutions:
--> Take bus162 and get off at "Offenbachstraße", the laundry is opposite this stop.
--> If the clothes are not heavy (like underwear), you can simply hand wash!
Their house is a bit like a "welcome center" for our library. Most of us (now) are students or scholars.
You can ask if there's any room available! They are very helpful and good in German and English.
If you need a place for short term stay, Ilona and Rainers' house will be a very good spot!
(I have to say "short term" because there's no laundry at home, for me it's all right anyway!)
By the way, Rainer and Ilona has a dog named Bouboulina, she's very calm and friendly.
Please note that I AM NOT AGENT.
All above according to personal experiences in "a certain period of time",
If needed, I can provide Rainer and Ilona's email. Please contact by yourself!
